Hi all, new to the forum but have been using MakeMKV for a long time to back up my BluRay discs. I'm recently looking into backing up my 4K UHD discs. When I tried to use MakeMKV for a 4K disc, I received this error:
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT' occurred while issuing SCSI command A40..002000800 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0', Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT ESTABLISHED', Occurred while issuing SCSI command AD010..080002400 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom0'Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive. LibreDrive compatible drive is required to open this disc - video can't be decrypted.
Here are the details for my Pioneer drive - from everything I've read I believe the firmware date on mine may be too new so I can't use this drive to back up my 4K discs? It works fine for BluRays. I'm not overly knowledgeable in this area but have read everything I can find on this forum.
If this drive is no good, could anyone recommend where I could pick up a suitable UHD external drive that would enable me to back up my 4K UHD discs? I'm located in Australia. Thank you in advance for your help.

Your firmware is too new and encrypted. Return it if you still can.

I
It's fixed!
Billy Carlson advised me how to clean the device lasers and it worked great because the unit immediately recognized the BD-R and did perfect writing.
Thank you so much to the Moderator and especially Billy! ---Rob
Hello,
I had to reinstall Win11 and something dinged my VinPower (Pioneer BD-212V) which used to work with BluRay Disks.
I need to copy some files to BD-R disks Verbatim16x.
The firmware was (and is still) what VinPower provided and I see that many other folks have had the same setup and are referred for a firmware update but I don't know who to ask for one.
Your help is appreciated. I really like makemkv and have used it a bunch.
Here is drive info:

Hi,
Found a BDR-212UHBK drive for sale and the seller said it has firmware version 1.04. Was wondering is that firmware version too new for Libredrive UHD etc? The newest on Pioneers site is ver 1.05.
Thank you.
Edit: Striked out again. Not compatible according to research. Oh well.
