It could. Before it at least recognized that there is a disc in there.
It still works fine on Standard Blu Rays and DVDs just not on 4K. It own't recognize that a disc has been inserted.

4Ks need more power especially BD100s

I tried with both connected directly to a laptop or to a Powered USB hub with 45 watt power supply.
Anything I can do or do I have a busted drive?

try cleaning the disc with a damp lint free cloth then immediately dry with another to avoid water spots

Still doesn't work after cleaning off the disc

I did some more testing. It rips DVDs and blu rays just fine. I tried powered USB hubs, unpowered USB hubs. Before I flashed the new firmware the disc was recognized by Windows and MakeMKV. Now, my 4K disc won't be recognized by either the OS or MakeMKV>

The firmware should not be the issue but if you want to, you could flash it to Buffalo PU3-BU10.

Also, do not open MakeMKV until the disc has been initialized by the OS.

Are you sure? Because before the flashing the disc was recognized but unable to be ripped. Now the disc is not able to be detected at all.

Exactly what I said. The firmware is 99.9% not your issue. On extremely rare occasions a flash may not have taken properly. If you want to know for sure, flash the drive to the Buffalo PU3-BU10 firmware.

I am trying to flash my LG BP60NB10 and when I have my SDFtool open and ready to choose drive and firmware, then drop down menu of drive will not display my drive. Anyone got any tips for this?
Please and thank you.

Do you have MakeMKV installed and in the default location?

I have MakeMKV set up on my Mac but it's not able to open SDFTool so I used my friends PC to try and upload the software, but he doesn't have MakeMKV downloaded. This is what I see and my Player is connected and being read by the laptop.
