You can read on their forum that P5 DV had a huge color shift not a long time ago so it seems the people in charge of the encoding on kscape are incompetent and lack quality control.

That is disappointing, but not surprising to me. Nearly every YouTube video I've seen of some super rich guy building or giving a tour of their private home theater and using KS, they never mention HDR/DV, but always talk about using some insane expensive (often SDR) projector, so KS probably added DV/HDR for marketing, but the customers they are really after are millionaires who probably couldn't tell apart SDR 1080p let alone 4K from true HDR/DV, if their life depended on it and just like the convenience and "prestige" of saying they own their super top tier system. I wonder if KS also has some internal training that encourages to push customers away from having any form of hybrid setup with UHD BD players or HDR/DV devices and instead go "all in" on KS. That wouldn't surprise me, they are in it for the $$ first and foremost, like most of these kinds of "high end" tech. Personally, this marketing image combined with their price points always made me highly skeptical of these guys, thanks for confirming it, RESET.

OK, tested a new movie on KSCAPE, and it's the same crap. Blacks are not raised like in The Accountant, but the colors are desaturated and the brightness is not right. DV TV-LED is even worse. Compression is also slightly worse despite the much higher bitrate on KSCAPE. Definitely a terrible streaming service or device, at least for HDR10/DV, because SDR is fine.

It would only be logical they go bankrupt soon.

It's clear they "added" HDR and DV as a marketing ploy to get more people to buy it. The concept is marginally good in theory. "Own" movies before they're even released to streaming to buy much less on physical disc. And the promise of quality that rivals or surpasses disc. And I think for projector owners using SDR that's probably true especially if you combine that with a lumagen or envy. But the expense involved, lack of true ownership of your media, and quality issues of media doesn't really make it a viable platform for anyone except people with money to blow. And if you have money to blow, I'd argue you're better off with a giant NAS and physical media. Add an Ugoos to the mix and you're good to go. At least with that setup you have true ownership of the media.

Plus Movies Anywhere platform might even have better quality, and the app is available on a 50$ streaming stick lol... Imagine paying 97k $ for a streaming device that has subpar encodes ...

This has been running great on my setup (E6 connected through an Onkyo RZ820 AVR). But I have run into a strange problem with a few titles (O'Dessa and The Legend of Ochi webrips):

When I start playback of O'Dessa, the TV displays the DV logo, and then just goes black and displays a black screen. Not even the Kodi OSD or the volume OSD from my AVR. Audio is playing, and I can stop the video via Kore or if I hit the stop button while "blind". "The Legend of Ochi" starts to play fine, but at around 12 minutes, the screen goes black, and in this case, the picture comes back at around 22 minutes (I can skip forward to this point to get the picture back).

If I disable "Source level metadata" both files play fine. I guess there is some metadata "too complicated for the E6" that makes this happen?

I can live with turning off SLM in these (few so far) cases, should I run into other problematic media, but of course, I wonder if there is a fix, or something that can be adjusted?
