DV windows update is available outside the DEV mode, and surprisingly, it does true TV-LED.
Win10 still has the red push bug though.
For older TV, you might have to modify your EDID but I heard you can use the LG dolby access app to enable it.

Fascinating. I wonder if we'll see player updates on Windows to enable Dolby vision playback. That'd be sweet.

Well, Energy Player can already do DV MKV + lossless audio as well as P7 to P8 playback, but that would be nice with MPC-HC/BE + some sort of dovi_baker plugin for FEL... It might be possible one day...

For me personally I'm thinking jriver mc support. It would definitely be ideal, especially with fel.

Why the dolby vision mode toggle doesn't work outside lg tv? It's possible to enable this on other brand tv like philips?, I have the toggle on windows but It does nothing.

My G5 has a DV PC mode and is seen as DV capable on Windows. Without it, DV is not triggered, so you'll probably have to modify your EDID, see:

It won’t be better or worse than any other internal player/container, and once you get the webOS 2025 update, PLEX and the G4 native player should support DV MKV too.
In fact, all the TVs that are eligible for webOS 2025 should get DV MKV support.
PS: just ordered the kaleidescape. We will know soon enough how it compares to the UHD-BD quality

@RESET_9999
How is the HDR10 of the movie Flow (2024) ? Is it just SDR in a HDR container ?
Would love a decent DoVi RPU of that movie. Is that Generated T3 xml a good one?

yes but the average is very high so it wont feel dark at all. will post a comparison on youtube later, just waiting on the YT HDR encoding to publish it...

That's cool - you got the Strato E I presume?
Do those boxes support playback of non- K sourced media? Like via USB for example? For testing what formats it actually supports?
I'm also interested what DV profile the K files use. 7? 8? Maybe even 5?
