Sorry but attaching screenshots is a bit of a problem.
Basically the rev. is now 1.0 but when MakeMKV tries to read the 4K UHD disk, I repeatedly get these errors -
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:INVALID FIELD IN CDB' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00030.m2ts' at offset '0'
Title #00030.m2ts was skipped.
Also the disk protection shows as AACS2.0/C v61
Is it possible to rip my own AACS2.0 encrypted disks?
seeing its at 0 it either a power problem use both usb cables in different usb circuits or get a high powered USB hub
or
the discs is messed up clean it

I flashed a LG drive successfully and made a firmware dump (original FW) before I flashed the drive.
As the LG drive is not what I expected I would like to return it and restore the original FW.
How do I apply the firmware dump and restore the drive to its original state? Is this possible?
The tar dump file contains several bin files. What file do I need to flash?
Thanks for your help.

What is the average speed for ripping UHD BR on a WH16NS40? I saw someone on YouTube who averaged about 12x on an unencrypted disc. Are drives slower when encryption is in use?

Drives are slower when the disk is less readable, or you're reading at the beginning, or ???
The data is at a constant density (bits per lineal centimeter), but there's more of it (per rotation) when you get further from the center (beginning). It will read fastest when you're reading furthest from that center. Once you hit layer 2, it will get slower as you advance back towards the center.
Reading at maximum rate puts the most stress on the media and draws the most power, so those are additional limits.

Hello,
I had flashed my BW-16D1X-U (external Asus Drive) to a bu40n in order to rip BlueRays but it wouldn't work for some reason : Actually the drive wouldn't even eject

. So i reflashed it as a BW-16D1HT (which i understand is the internal version of my BW-16D1X-U) and the tray is ejecting again. But i still can't read anything. I hear the drive trying to read for a few seconds end then stoping, then trying again etc...
Windows tells me the drivers are updated and i also tried reinstaling the device from device manager. So at this point, me not being a geek, i'm not sur what to look for ?
Could it be that i reflashed it as a BW-16D1HT instead of a BW-16D1X-U ? Sounds unlikely..
One thing i noticed as well is that puting a cd in the drive will freeze Windows Media Player even if the cd remains undetected
Thanks in advancce for any help !

I followed this tutorial :

I have checked Marty's Tool and i don't seem to find another procedure than the one i tried.
Is it possible that i damaged the harware doing this firmware change ??
This drive costed me 150€ so i would be pissed if i needed to buy a new one because of this.

It's possible but choose the recovery option choose the bu40n fw then select the WH16NS60 firmware

Yes it's not working. Drive seems to be flashed correctly but i can't read anything.
Will look for other solutions on the forum today. If not buy a new drive, keep this one in case i come across sombebody more knowledgeable sometimes..
And learn this lesson the hard way, not to mess with firmware stuff if you don't know what you're doing
Thanks anyway for your replies !

I see and did you test it before you flashed it?
What is the build date on the drive?
How it it hooked up to the PC direct SATA or what model USB adapter?
