Device and Host keys are revoked in a new MKB versions. Once you have a new MKB v83 disc (not a thing....yet) then it'll likely revoke the device key that's been leaked. All current host keys are revoked in MKB v82. But with LibreDrive, we don't care. We only care about device and processing keys IMO.

Link updated in my post. Accidentally linked to an old tool that doesn't really work. Please redownload if you downloaded the old tool.

Like, if you visited this page:

Code: Select all

Good news: the Doom9 AACS 1.0 MKBv82 device key is now included with the public keydb, so no additional steps should be required.

Since the recent upgrade of makeMKV, it hasn't been reading my discs. I sent the drive info to Billy and he said everything looked fine to him but still won't recognize it. In windows explorer when I put a blu-ray in, it lists the title but not for a 4K. Has anyone else have this problem?

Nope. Sounds like an issue with the drive and/or disc. If Windows doesn't recognize it there's an issue in one of those two.

Have you got any CDs to try load one up and see if it plays ok, just to see if its Windows playing up. You could also try safe mode.

I'll have to check that out. Also, I have seen that ASUS is supposed to be under System Devices. Have you noticed if your writer is located in there?

I put a CD in and when I clicked the icon, it ejected the disc - no disc installed

It will show up in device manager if it isn't then something is not right, at a guess I would say it's faulty or on its way out.

In device manager click on scan for new hardware, but it should automatically pick it up.

yeah, it is listed in device manager. I had seen on another section in here that it should be listed under SYSTEM DEVICES. Looks like all the devices that are connected to computer. Didn't check before updating makeMKV so not sure, but hasn't been working since I updated it.

If you think it's the software you could uninstall MakeMKV with Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer and then install again, remember Restart not Shutdown.

It should be showing up in System Devices, have you clicked on View More Devices?

Where would I find Revo Installer? It works fine with blu-ray but not for 4K discs. Do you know of a way or someone that would know how to get it back in System Devices? Thanks for your help

Do a search for Revo Uninstaller in Google, that software will get rid of all of the extra files so when you install MakeMKV again it will be a fresh install.

Do a search for New Devices or In Device Manager uninstall reboot and then it will pick it up, I wouldn't worry about it not showing up as its in Device Manager.
