Because the pixels are 1:1 identical to the Movie Anywhere Web-dl. This is not possible and this group has a history of faking web-dl.
Also, if you really can crack / web-dl KS, why not offer the TrueHD Atmos track as well?

Any idea how he faked the sound? Perhaps the second option that I suggested, or are there any other thoughts on this?

There were doubts about this too

any audio can easily be upmixed and altered to make it look different. It's not that hard to do and it's not the first time this group upmix 5.1 to 7.1, he did it for non-KS rip too.
BTW, every time he gets caught he changes his name. He was ''WKS'' before and he once contacted me to know how to add generated HDR10plus and DV to his fake googleplay webdl.

Thank you, it's a pity if that's really the case.

It IS definitely the case. This all started back in the day when under the name WKS, they put out some Avatar 4K release out of the blue claiming it was from GPLAY with VP9 codec (which I even wondered if it was real?), but it was just a shitty upscale and faked, even if in an ironic twist, the final retail UHD BD was also upscaled, at least it was properly done. I think they also did it for Titanic before there was any sign of a real 4K stream or UHD BD, although that one might have actually come from some ruzzian forum tracker, I forget.
Either way, if it seems too good to be true (KS suddenly appearing or something that hasn't been announced or can't be found at the retail source, streaming or disc), probably is fake, and people should be more skeptical and not just accept this at face value, especially if it has the Suckduck name on it (or XFORCE, another name they used randomly for Deadpool "KS" tagged release). Some people care way too much about getting attention and fake respect online.

C. Audio track which you will have to convert to AC3. This is a hard line limitation- you need to use AC3!!!
And this, no offense, makes the entire solution moot for me. I'm not going back from DTA-MA/Dolby Atmos to ac3.
There's gotta be an mkv way of doing this, with HD audio. I currently have an mkv like this:
Code: Select all
1: h265/HEVC, 2160p24 /1.001 (16:9), 10 bits
2: h265/HEVC, 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9), 10 bits - Dolby Vision Enhancement Layer
But no DV is getting triggered on it. Is the muxing of the 2 channels, like MP4 Mux does, possible for mkv too?

Makemkv missing half of the metadata:

no issue with tsmuxer... I guess the makemkv output should always be double checked...
Another one: Late.Night.With.The.Devil.2023
It seems the German studios don't know how to author UHD DV disc...

Yeah, possibly Capelight or a 3rd party using some wonky tools or out of date authoring flow. The Second Sight GBR 4K UHD BD is coming shortly for Late Night with the Devil, so we'll see if that one has the issue with DV at all, likely will be fine and maybe better encoding overall.

Some movies just compress very well, so I would guess it's fine. You could always run a 7-2 comparison with the script for your input vs. output encodes if you're unsure.

With CRF, the encoding quality is always the same regardless of the final bitrate/size. Some movies require more bitrate (grain, fullscreen, bright) and some others less( dark, digital, letterbox)

@RESET_9999 I was taking a look at your the grade/master doc to check whether the WEB RPU for the movie The Bourne Legacy was injectable or not.
L1 is fine, but it seems like PQ differs between sources. Wouldn't such RPU, if injected, change the original creator intent?

thats apple stupid static color reshaping. All their DV contents have this difference: red always looks brighter/orangish. sometimes it's less apparent.
this static metadata is removed when you convert the rpu to P8. Apple has no respect to the creator's intent, I did a video about it on my youtube channel.
Never watch iTunes P5 web-dl if you care about accuracy, always convert it to P8.
