I just started to rip the first season but the 2nd disk (episodes 4 - 6) don't work. I got this message:

Strange since season 1 has been out before on UHD format?

Regarding the keys being generated/deployed by AACS LA/Studios/media authors at any time they wish for all protected content always applies.

Just a further update. Some of these discs are VERY finicky to get a rip going, but when they do start they seem okay. Managed Seasons 5-7, and half of Season 4. Seasons 1 and 8 appear to be the same as the older releases so no need to rip those. Currently working on Season 2.

Edit: Note that when I say rip, I mean an encrypted backup ofcourse.

Like he said in the quote, he's making encrypted copies.

Common for old titles to still require a new key from time to time. Just a new batch from the manufacturer.

Because season 1 and 8 have been previously released on UHD so the keys exist.

Looks like new keys are locked and loaded. MakeMKV just downloaded an update. Season 1 Disc 2 opens now...

Don’t forget everyone... discs can be (and usually are) different between countries, requiring different keys, and this set was released in a lot of countries.

My backups are now unlocking. As these are 4K Discs they should be universally the same.

I really hope they figure out 4k/HDR handbrake ripping sometime soon.....things like this take a serious chunk out of the HDD space.
