Game of Thrones UHD Complete Series 1-8 - No Decrypt Key yet

Post by el_pollo_hermano » Mon Nov 02, 2020 1:30 pm

Hey everyone,

Just recieved my GOT 4K Boxset, and obviously the decrypt keys haven't been flushed through yet.

Creating this thread for others experiences and for when the key is available.

Did you send the files MakeMKV generated to svq@makemkv.com so that keys can be generated?

Is that the TGZ files?

If so, I will go through all the discs first then send at once. Is that a good idea?

Yes, the TGZ files that you'll find in your MakeMKV data directory. Those files are how the decryption keys are created.

Brilliant, I've not done debug files before, thanks for the info!

Sweet. That means by the time Amazon gets around to actually sending me the f****ing thing the keys should be available. LMAO Currently scheduled for later this week. Come on, Amazon! This is why I usually go Best Buy. Anyway thanks for submitting them.

Looking at what i've done and estimating, will probably be in the 2.5-3TB range depending on what you keep.

Just a further update. Some of these discs are VERY finicky to get a rip going, but when they do start they seem okay. Managed Seasons 5-7, and half of Season 4. Seasons 1 and 8 appear to be the same as the older releases so no need to rip those. Currently working on Season 2.

Edit: Note that when I say rip, I mean an encrypted backup ofcourse.

I have them all ripped currently as blu-ray except season 8 which I already have the UHD's for. But I didn't rip those as Dolby Vision MKV's which is what I plan on doing this time around for the rest of the seasons. And of course they're difficult to read....we can't have them not continuing the trend lately! :D sigh Can't WAIT for that fun.

Update: I have now processed all discs and submitted all dump files for seasons 2-7. Will update thread when keys available.

In terms of ripping these discs, just be patient. Sometimes is took a few minutes for a disc to be recognised.

I am using the ASUS BW-16D1HT, and changed my FLASH from 3.02 --> 3.10. This seemed to help alot with the less stable discs.

I'm using a Buffalo BRXL-PT6U2V drive with Asus Firmware BU40N1.03.bin

Is there a newer firmware somewhere that'll help with the reading of these disks does anyone know?

(Obviously we're waiting on the keys processed for S2-S7 which a few of us have probably emailed in already)

My box arrives today and I had not even thought about that.
Good timing for BF mass storage deals I guess.

I am still awaiting delivery. Found it cheaper on Deep Discount. Did not really care for the look of the Best Buy set this go round.

Couldn’t get anything other than s1 and s8 to read. All the others s2-s7 reporting unknown keys. Don’t understand how you got s5-s7 to read if the keys are unknown.
