Sim sala bim - and my Asus BW-16D1HT has changed firmware.

You have - for what it's worth - forever my utmost gratitude.
You're welcome!!!! Enjoy!

Correction on my previous post. I definitely have NET framework 4.8, based on the value in regedit. So I do have MakeMKV and proper NET framework and I am still get the "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application" error. As stated before, if I hit continue the flasher will open, but it will not recognize any optical drives. I have a drive already installed and am looking to flash a WH16NS40 with 1.05.

Very strange situation with my PC. I checked the .NET framework version using the cmd prompt and it shows up as 4.0.0. I tried to install 4.7.2 and it would not allow me to because it says I have 4.7.2 or later already installed.
Not sure what to say here.....

You could try using the modified ASUS flasher, as long as your drive does not have an encrypted firmware on it.

Do you have the latest version of MakeMKV installed? It's needed as it contains sdftool.exe, which is needed for this flasher to work properly.

Hello:

Check this post https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=19113

then get the ZIP file (mk-firmware-pack-20200720.zip). Open the ZIP file and start tunneling down to BU50N. Violà!

Regards,
A

Hey

before I order a drive, I just want to make sure I understand correctly:

Can I use the SDFtool Flasher in Windows 10 64bit without changing ACHI to IDE in BIOS, or would I still needto load a 32bit windowsand swap to IDE in BIOS?

Regards

Yes you can. None of that 32 bit and bios changes crap is needed.

If you want original firmware just don't flash an MK firmware flash a DE but it should have no effect on the burning ability either way
