Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)

"Peter Jackson and his team went back to the original elements to create new 4K masters for these releases - the original 35mm elements for LOTR and the digital elements for Hobbit. Both sets will include the Theatrical Cuts and the Extended Cuts. Both sets will feature HDR10 standard and Dolby Vision. Both sets will also get a Dolby Atmos audio upgrade."

It should be OK at 24fps as it wasn't interlaced therefore removing every other frame would make it as if it was naturally shot at 24.

Hobbit won’t be 48fps.

I’ll be waiting for the big set - don’t know why they wouldn’t release it at the same time, possibly to try to get double dips (or dozenth dips by the time you count up all the home video releases of the different versions over the years) - for the bonus content and the remastered LOTR Blu-rays.

Got The Lord of the Rings today too, also can't back them up onto my servers. Guess that no one can back them up.

We have to wait for Mike to process the dumps and push the keys out. It doesn't usually take more than 48 hours from first submissions. I've been making encrypted backups in the meantime, saves ripping from the disks after the keys release.
