MakeMKV 1.15.3 fails to start

Hi,

I just downloaded and installed version 1.15.3 of MakeMKV under Windows 10. When I try to start it, just a small window pops up with the text "Application failed to initialize". I cannot download previous version 1.15.2.

found in another thread, how to download older version, there is at least 1.15.1.

This is very wrong. Does it still happen? May ask you to collect the log file?

I think I can shed some light on this, as I've had the same thing happen. It took me a while to track down then resolution, but it's easily reproduceable.

I've got an 8GB RamDisk (R:) set up that I've been playing with. I changed my system temp folder to R:\Temp. Well, somewhere along the way, the RamDisk crashed, hence no %TMP% or %TEMP% available.

With no accessible temp folder available, MakeMKV throws the following dialog and won't run:



So, you might add a check on start for a valid temp folder and adjust the dialog text to be more meaningful. Maybe even try and create the default temp folder.

Anyway, that was my related experience.
