Hi Guys,
I have some questions about how pcm is stored in mkv by makemkv.
PCM on bluray is a bit different as usual PCM, I dont remember the exact difference right now.
If I keep PCM and not convert it to FLAC, is there stored some info about the PCM-stream?
Since it has no own header, does makemkv add something to keep info what its specs are? Or does it create some header for it?
I am worry to have some channels swapped or having some other mistakes because of the missing header.
eac3to has an own parameter to demux pcm from bluray, so what is needed to demux a makemkv pcm to wav without having something swapped or lost?
Or I could also ask: Is the pcm stream of bluray stored 1:1 to mkc or is there already something changed?
I know, badly descriped ... I hope you get what I mean.
Questions about using PCM instead of FLAC
Re: Questions about using PCM instead of FLAC
The track header in the MKV file has to have some information, since handbrake can accurately determine things like channel counts and bit rates when it reads them.
