Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
@Yusesope
Your new file plays correctly in firestick, ugoos am6plus and shield.
In sony x700, via usb, it does not start and the counter stays at 000.

Thanks for the tests
The .pgs subtitles works with exoplayer and firestick?
@yusesope maybe this method never work with x700 because is an "official player" I don't know
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
In the mp4 files I did not add subtitles so don't know if they are displayed in firestick.
In the DV Mkv played in shield/ugoos am6plus via kodi/exoplayer, the pgs subs work and are displayed correctly.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
But normally, does the x700 play mp4 obtained with my tool (Single Track Double Layer)?
Could you please try to extract the hevc video stream from this latter mp4 file, demux it using my "DEMUX.bat", import the two bl.hevc (as first) and el_rpu.hevc (as second) into TsMuxeR and create a m2ts file to try on the Sony?
Thank you!
But why?
I need to know to understand if I'm doing something wrong!
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Please can you try it with the firestick?
@yusesope I don't know, is only a idea, I say that becouse it work on Android devides but no in X700
You're are the master here

Dolby vision is triggered a couple of seconds after the play starts.
There is some heavy flickering here and there.

If I use FEL -> MEL then the resulting file size is the same as without that conversion. Is that right?
Normally MEL EL-file sizes are much lower.
Parameter -mode 2 doesn't delete EL data. Getting not a file BL+RPU.hevc, only BL+EL+RPU.hevc with similar size.
I'm using profile 5 on Windows 10 using mp4muxer. Only this works.

Dell XPS 15 9500, cpu i7-10570H, Win10 Pro v2004,
Full HD 1920x1080 non-glare, HDR streaming enabled, Dolby Vision active

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Didn't knew, ffmpeg could also extract the core ac3 from truehd.yusesope wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 8:39 amBut you didn't let us know if it works on LG or not .
A little tip: if you don't need to make cuts, you can extract video and audio with a single commandClearly replace "XXX" with the correct TrueHD (with ac3 core) audio stream idCode: Select all
ffmpeg.exe -i \path\to\file -map 0:0 -c copy \path\to\BL.hevc -map 0:1 -c copy \path\to\EL.hevc -map 0:XXX -bsf:a truehd_core -c:a copy \path\to\AUDIO.ac3
Thanks for that mate
Unfortunately the Gemini Man movie still lags very hard, like the TV has trouble decoding it somehow.
So it doesn't have anything to do with MEL or FEL.
I guess it simply cannot handle 60fps DV.

yes, MEL Single Track Double Layer made with your tool plays on the x700... but not the FEL ones and not the converted MEL ones.
Sorry for my English.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
latest Tsmuxer nightly produces DV profile 7 from hevc files made with Yusesope tool.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Tested, didn’t have any problems with the .bat files with the added libraries. I used the MI6 bathroom scene that’s been floating around here (recut from my own disc). Seems to have worked fine.
I only have an LG cx and shield to test with at the moment. LG TV didn’t seem to like the file, not sure if that’s expected, I’ve never really tried that hard to get it to play files due to the audio limitations.
The shield played the file. I can’t tell if the colour issue is still there though, I was struggling to see the red push on both the MEL mp4 and the FEL mkv. I don’t think the intention of this experiment was to ‘fix’ any of that? This was more for other devices, e.g. firestick?
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
As I said mp4 files do not support pgs subtitles so there is no way, at moment, to know if they are supported in exoplayer/firestick. I think we must wait for Tsmuxer m2ts format played via exoplayer to test this functionality.
