House Season 2, Episode 21 - failed to save

I've been converting all my dvd of various tv series to mkv files using makemkv, and for the most part I've run into no issues.

However, today, one episode of House ( 2x21) failed to be copied. I tried from both the DVD itself and making an iso with AnyDVD, (seemingly) same error both times.

The other 3 files from the disk were copied just fine. These are brand new disks, so physical damage isn't an issue.

Here's the log from when I tried to rip the file from the DVD directly:

Edit:
I don't know if this makes a difference, but the copy process goes all the way through...the failed to copy message doesn't appear until the process is seemingly complete.

Have you successfully played that episode from the original DVD on your PC?

Yes, the episode works fine. I haven't found anything that would tell me there is something wrong with the original file.

I also tried copying the disk with a different dvd drive, same issue.

Looks like disc mastering error. There is no workaround for now.

not entirely sure what that means, but that's unfortunate. Is that something that would be specific to that disk (i.e. if I were to get another copy of the same disk, is there a chance that I would be able to copy the video from that disk) or is this something that is inherent to that file?

Hi,

I'm having the same issue with a DVD I am trying to rip. It has 3 30 minute episodes which are all self-contained in their own VOB files. I can open the VOB file that is failing in MakeMKV and play it all the way through, no issues. It might be worth noting that the file is created in the output directory but is deleted due to the error. I would be interested to see if the resulting MKV file was playable. Is this something you could potentially add an configuration option for?
