Dire Help Need with UHD Drive and Constant HashCheck or Read Errors

#1 Post by JayRay » Mon Aug 17, 2020 10:47 pm

Hello, I'm in dire need of help. Please help me, as I have tried everything I know to try. I have a brand new LG WH14NS40 UHD Friendly drive that I flashed using both a Vantek CB-ST00U3 (which later learned was incompatible) and then a Unitek Y-1099 adapter. I flashed it to BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS60 1.02d firmware using this command:

Code: Select all

makemkvcon64.exe f --all-yes -d F: rawflash -i C:\*MY DESKTOP DIR*\mk-firmware-pack-20200720\MK\old\HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin”
I keep getting HackCheck errors on about 75% of the UHD disks I try, including brand new fresh ones out of the case disks and disks that I've thoroughly cleaned. Another 10% gives me read errors. I have tried everything I know, and have searched online, but to no avail. I am very frustrated. Please help me.

Here are the last few lines of the logs (from within the MakeMKV app, not the .txt file):

MakeMKV is up to date. I've tried ripping using an older version of MakeMKV as well, and on different computers. Drive manufacture date is March 2020. Original firmware version I believe was 1.04. I am ripping to an external hard drive. I have tried using AnyDVD HD, and it gave me an error message:

Code: Select all

Drive supports bus encryption!
Disk wants bus encryption!
Failed to send host key (bus encryption)!
ERROR processing Blu-ray disk!
(I know this is not an AnyDVD HD forum, but maybe this error will help troubleshoot).

MakeMKV gives me this message every time I restart the app: "Optical drive "BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE WH16NS60 1.02d" opened in OS access mode."

A few other disks I've tried that don't work:
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
Sing!
Sonic the Hedgehog
The Greatest Showman

because your drive is defective i only recommend the BU40N now those desktop lg and asus drive just have really bad quality control get a new drive and try again.
or you could of course buy one from me thats flashed and tested to have no errors.
