What is "SEG"?

I'm looking at Addams Family BD and I see "SF" and SEG". I'm assuming that SF = Special Features and that DS = Deleted Scenes. But, what is "SEG"?

Where do you even see those flags?

I've seen screenshots of HD DVDs in this forum where MakeMKV was able to tell, which track had which name. Always assumed that's something special with HD DVDs.

I renamed like thousands of 01234.mkv files to the original name by playing the disc and just checking, which Extra on the BluRay had which title length and renaming the appropriate file.

I always assumed segment as well.

My understanding is that these "Comments" appear for discs where MakeMKV uses Java to process BD+ code, notably fake playlist discs. (Although it seems that the Main Feature is not always being identified correctly.)

Here's a list of titles I currently have that display this, I'll update it further as I run across any more. I have a large mix of CA, US, and UK titles, so discs may vary depending on country:

I never ever have seen those names, and I processed hundreds of BluRays with MakeMKV so far, and I never had any problem ripping any of the discs either. I'm kinda confused

I always have had a Java installed, currently Java 1.8.0_251 both x86 and x64.

Yes, my MakeMKV is allowed to contact web server for updates
No, I have not set up a Custom Java executable location (and MakeMKV never asked me for one either, so it must have found the former mentioned installed Java)

Does it have to do with the Output file name template somehow? Do I need to write something specific in there?

Giving this a bump because it would really make labeling Extras much easier for people like me who otherwise would need an hour to click through the BluRay menu and check the play length for each and every Extra on the disc to see, which file it could be.

I also have hundreds of Blu-rays in my collection but relatively few have this data. I'll start a list in my post above, so that it's closer to the top of the thread. So it's possible that depending on the movies you have and given the number of Blu-rays that are out there, you could have hundreds of Blu-rays but never see it. I'm still concerned about FPL_MainFeature not being correct though.

Oh wel... thank you for your response then.

It is strange, why such isn't a standard feature on any BluRay. I guess because the manufacturers don't want anyone to rip their discs, but only play them on stand alone players.
