First, let me say thanks for producing such a great product. This is always my go-to when I have an impossible-to-rip disc.
There are a couple of features that I think would make it easier to select the correct titles when ripping a DVD.
When a disc is first analyzed, a window pops up which lists the titles. By default, every title is checked, and it's sorted by title number. On some discs (both DVD and Blu-Ray), there are hundreds of titles. It would be really convenient if there was a check-box to uncheck all of them, because only ripping the main title can sometimes take half the time as ripping the whole disc. As it is, I have to scroll the entire list and uncheck every box except the ones I want.
Along the same vein, it would be fantastic to be able to sort the titles by size. In the case where there are hundreds of titles, really all I usually want are the ones that are very large (3GB to 7GB), and it's not very fast to scroll a very long list and pick out only the ones I need.
I hope this suggestion helps in the direction.
Thanks

Feature request #1: Welcome to the world of the context menu. RIGHT click on the left window, select "Unselect all".
Feature request #2: Sorting of some sort has been a long-standing request. If you are using Java so that MakeMKV can try to find the correct playlist on Lionsgate Blurays, that is really the only place where the list is sorted that I've seen.

Re: Feature Request: Select/Deselect all and sort by size
Thank you for reply #1. As long as I've been using computers (think Apple //e in 1981), I really didn't think of trying a right-click.
As for reply #2, my first choice is usually DVD Shrink. It can rip about 90% of the discs that I've tried, and it's really easy (usually) to just pull out the main title in the Re-author tab. When that fails, I fire up MakeMVK, and it can almost always get the job done. Also, it can create ISO files as output, which is usually my preference since it (usually) names the ISO properly and HandBrake can open them natively. I'll keep crossing my fingers for this feature request to be fulfilled.
Thanks again

This can be sort of hacked with "minimal title length" setting.grandman10k wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 2:40 pmAlong the same vein, it would be fantastic to be able to sort the titles by size. Setting it to 120 seconds would eliminate all short disclaimers trailers and so on...

Re: If you're experiencing rip errors, please read here first!
When I rip Blu-ray TV shows, the shows rip in the wrong order. Please fix this as it is a big problem as many TV shows have 24 episodes. Thx
Re: Feature Request: Select/Deselect all and sort by size
This is my first post. I too would would like the feature to uncheck all by default. I'm 60 years old hang on to a grinder all day as part of my job and literally my hand are stuffed and arthritic at the end of the day. I'm fairly new to ripping UHD disks but have done a few, but just went through the original Top Gun movie and there is 'nine' menu items to expand and uncheck literally 99% of everything except the main title and then 99% of that. It took over 10 minutes of mouse clicks to select only what I wanted. That was torture. It would be so much easier and quicker to check what is wanted to rip rather than uncheck all but what you want.
I would gladly pay for the product if you would incorporate this feature.

Best answer in post #2...
- Enable 'Expert mode' on the preferences 'General' tab.
- On the newly exposed preferences 'Advanced' tab, replace the existing 'Default selection rule' with just: -sel
Additional options:
Changing default track selection
Another suggestion:
- On the preferences 'Video' tab, you can set 'Minimum title length (seconds)' to (approx) 1500 to eliminate most extras... you'll only see Main title length stuff.
or... if you REALLY wish to deselect EVERYTHING by default:
- Enable 'Expert mode' on the preferences 'General' tab.
