I have been using makemkv for ripping blu ray disk's and have had great luck using it however I'm trying to rip some old HD DVD disc's that I had from years ago and it's not recognizing the disc?
Any thoughts and or solutions? I'm just trying to rip it my Hard Drive. I'm using a Pioneer BDB 212 internal player.
I appreciate your input.
Thanks
Steve
Ripping HD DVD disc's with makemkv?
Re: Ripping HD DVD disc's with makemkv?
Does that drive support HD-DVD? I cannot find evidence that it does.
If the drive doesn't do it, MakeMKV won't be able to.

Thanks you, that's what I was thinking. Do you happen to know which drive does as it's worth it to me based on the number of movies I have that are HD DVD's.

After posting my question, I did find a page that referenced a "coming soon" (in 2007) product from Pioneer that supported both BD and HD-DVD that contained "212" in its model number, but I couldn't find any specifications for it.

Re: Ripping HD DVD disc's with makemkv?
I also had a collection of HD DVD discs. I found a cheap used HD DVD drive from the X Box 360 on Ebay. It is a USB external drive and I was able to use it to rip my discs.
