Goodbye MKV

Post by DukeD »

It has become too hard to continue to use this. Been a follower for years too. Can't find any registration numbers to use like you used to do. Can't buy it with PayPal (they say it's PayPal fault) and I'm not going to use my CC on a site that isn't secure and with a method unknown to me. Oh well, great way to to kill a business.... pretty weird if you ask me , but it's not my business so, do whatever you like. As I said, I have enjoyed using this tool for years. Thanks very much and good luck!

Your choice. Have fun.

The location of the beta key hasn't changed in years. Any other registration keys you would be searching for would be pirated.

The PayPal situation is not under the control of Mike, and it IS under the control of PayPal. The fix is to not sell what you say you want to buy, so "fault" is rather easy to assign.

The payment processor Mike uses has a valid security certificate, with traceability, so it can't be called "insecure". Not sure what you mean by "method unknown to me".

So, your decision to not use your credit card on it is your decision, not something subject to anyone else's pressure.

Oh noes, MakeMKV will now stop existing! ... Wait, it's still there? Strange...

As already stated the beta key can be found in the same thread since 2010.

Why isn't it secure? SSL Server Test says, Avangate has good certificate.
I have enjoyed using this tool for years.
So do I, and bought it just this year with my CC without problems. Ripped hundreds of DVDs and BluRays and never had a huge problem :)

It wasn't "too hard" for me to use it for years without a registration, and for years after that with a registration.

Bye!

As for me, I'm so happy that this tool finally extracts MKV's with DV metadata that I showed my appreciation by purchasing a permanent key today.

Thank You, Mike

So get a prepaid CC and put enough on it to pay for MakeMKV, this is not rocket science......

If you are worry, why don't you try one of those credit card services that allow you to generate single use numbers. I haven't tried them myself, but they sound neat.

Any credit card company worth a damn protects you from fraudulent charges, stop trying to make excuses. Bookmark the thread with the registration code if you're too poor.
