Broadchurch S2D2 00031.mpls LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input

#1 Post by kevmitch » Thu Jul 02, 2020 3:38 am

All but one title on this disc will rip fine. The one that fails is 00031.mpls, segments map 27,28,29,30,31,32. The behaviour is consistent between both my drives

BD-RE ATAPI iHBS212 2 53T1
BD-RE ASUS BW-161DHT 3.10 (patched libredrive firmware)

I am able to do a full disk decrypted backup without issue. When I open the index.bdmv, the titles strangely appear in a different order. However, if I try and rip 00031.mpls from its new order in the backup I get the same error. I have attached a debug log from this last case.

If I deselect the only audio track, which is Stereo LPCM, the title rips without issue.

I have prepared a stripped down backup consisting of only this title, which is about 4.4Gb. I would be happy to upload this somewhere if it helps with analysis.

Are you using a conversion (LPCM f.e to FLAC) for the audio track?
Good Luck :)

I'm using the unmodified Default profile.

The GUI info pane says

Code: Select all

Output format: Raw LPCM audio without channel configuration metadata ( Lossless conversion )
Output description: Save as raw LPCM

Ah, the problem is only present in the latest version makemkv-bin_1.15.1. If I downgrade to makemkv-bin_1.15.0, I can rip the title without issue. The 1.15.0 debug output is attached.

I think I'm experiencing the same audio issue, how do debug downgrade?

I have a feeling that this thread is talking about the same issue: https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=22465 . I have the same issue with a different disc that also has stereo LCPM using version 1.15.1 . I haven't tried downgrading but i can post a debug log if that would be helpful.

Just to close the loop on this, I saw the same behaviour with 1.15.2, but it seems to be fixed in 1.15.3.
