Output file name and

#1 Post by dhstraayer » Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:08 pm

I'm using a purchased and registered 1.15.1 (x64 make, x86 GUI). MakeMKV correctly extracts the DVD title and shows it, but 90% of the time fails to use it in the Output File, which then appears as /title.mkv or /titleN.mkv. Rarely, it uses the DVD title. What's up? Am I missing a setting? Should I download the code and try to muck around and find the issue myself?

This should be an easy fix to routinely use the extracted title in the output file name.

To start with, what are you using for your output file naming template?

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18313 has more information on this.

This is the Output file name template I've been using: {NAME1}{-:CMNT1}{-:DT}{title:+DFLT}

I'll try changing NAME1 to NAME2, maybe that will help. Or perhaps I have something else wrong with my name template.

changing NAME1 to NAME2 did not help. Still resolutely ripping to title.mkv

Is there something wrong with my file naming template?

How do you know MakeMKV has the title name? There is a difference between DVD title from DVD-TEXT metadata(1) and DVD volume name(2). Most DVDs only have (2). If you want to use (2) as disc title, you have to copy this value into "Name" field when DVD disc is selected in tree (and the value should be empty actually).
