some of the discs in the wonder woman season 2 DVD set will not open in MakeMKV, but they play in my Sony Bluray player without any problems.
( disc 2 side A and side B, disc 3 side B
I'm not sure how to get the detailed logs, if anyone can give me step-by-step instructions, I'll gather any info.

Make sure the disk is clean. Double-sided disks can be particularly troublesome in many players.

these are brand new discs from a new box, which is why I didn't think about cleaning, but while I was cleaning, I do see micro scratches on the problem sides, so I now suspect they were damaged during production or packaging.
so, I am currious, does this mean the sony bluray player somehow ignores this damage?
the drive in my computer is an HL-DT-ST bluray reader/writer

Consumer DVD players (and playback software) are generally programmed to ignore minor errors. If a sector fails the checksum, it will attempt to decode it anyway. MakeMKV won't do that - it's trying to get a correct rip, rather than an approximation, because later processing might fail because of the bad data.
