Can't find DVD drive with version 1.51.1
MakeMKV 1.15.1 on Ubuntu 18 does not find my BD drive (USB3), and gets stuck in scanning for CD-ROMs
Drive works as a read-only data drive on linux, worked fine under windows with MakeMKV.
Any suggestions on how to get MakeMKV to detect my drive? Thanks

Re: Can't find DVD drive with version 1.51.1
Are you running MakeMKV from a "package", or installed by compiling from the download?
MakeMKV asks the operating system to enumerate the available drives. If the operating system doesn't think MakeMKV has the proper permissions, none will be reported. This happens on all operating systems, dependent on permissions.

Hi Woodstock -- no idea how permission to enumerate would work for makemkv, nor I found instructions about the subject.
For Debian systems, the instruction page is not the way to go, at least in my case. Building from source results in makemv forever looking for a dvd player.
For debian systems, follow the suggestions in the discussion forum and install the snap from the snapstore, which works just fine on my system.
