Parasite Canada Release (Amazon) Dump Sent

Canada just received its release of Parasite June 2. I’ve sent the dump and am eagerly awaiting being able to back it up.

If you have it selected it will auto download.

However mike hasn’t updated the key yet. I used another program to decrypt the movie. It worked just fine.

I’m a little bitter. Now this is just nit picking. But I just don’t get it.


The Korean import of Parasite had an avg video stream of 79xxx kpbs. Give or take roughly. I’m relying on my memory here. It had French and Korean audio and subtitles.

Then we get the Canadian release. With the addition on English subs. The avg HEVC video stream is 57xxx kbps.

Now I’m sure the quality difference is indistinguishable. However it begs the question... why.

I wonder if the US release is similar.

Just sharing oddity and annoyance lol

I just got the Canadian release from Amazon yesterday and it won't backup. Gives me this error:

Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Saved AACS dump file as C:\Users\****/.MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_Parasite_F1C9.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc

I'm new to 4k disks, this is just my second one. Blade Runner Final Cut ripped fine once I got the firmware correct on my drive. I submitted the dump file but am I missing a step? If I have the 3.10 firmware on my Asus drive should I just be able to rip like normal?
