I know this has been posted a lot but my external BD-ROM is the internal BD-ROM from my old HP laptop. I bought a 13-pin SATA to USB 3.0 Cable Optic Drive Adapter so I could hook it up to my Lenova Laptop. It works for playing Blu-Rays on VLC and ripping DVDs on HandBrake but for some reason, it doesn't work with Blu-Rays on MakeMKV.
Due to the fact that mine was an internal drive for an old HP, I thought maybe it might be different than most external BD-ROM problems describer here.
Thanks ahead of time!
External BD-ROM is not recognized by MakeMKV
Re: External BD-ROM is not recognized by MakeMKV
No, the problems are the same. If Windows doesn't recognize it as an optical drive, MakeMKV cannot, either. If Windows recognizes it, does it report it to MakeMKV as an optical drive?
