Not sure if this is the right group Ut what drives are good for 4k video and be quiet. I previously had hgst drives i got in 2016-2018 however looking over google seems like it might have changed. Amazon reviews confused the issue more. Some even felt hgst is not reliable anymore etc.

My NAS uses 10GB Western Digital RED drives. The fan in the NAS is louder than the 8 drives.
You can get away with the dreaded "shingle" drives for video storage, because the writing doesn't move that fast. Writes are the downfall of both shingle drives and SSDs.

Same drives i use in mine. Haven't had any issues. In fact just replaced one of my western digital 4tb red nas drive with a 10tb yesterday. Just needed more space. Will put the 4 in another nas for personal backups at some point.
