USB 3.0 extension cables?

Hey folks, can you suggest a nice working USB 3.0 extension cable?
I tried one from Amazon a while back and it didn't work for me.
I can't remember the details on what it did or didn't do.
Might have been too long a cable though, at ten feet long.
Or maybe just a bum cable.

Ideally I'd like something that is ten feet long, but if it's at least six, then that will work okay.

usb 3 extinctions are a bad idea past 6ft but if you need one get an active cable or fiber optic and plug into a powered hub

Drive cables are always going to be a gamble if you're trying to save money. The Amazon branded cables have the advantage that they will take them back if they don't work. I've used extensions by "Cable Matters" with good luck, but I've not tried to push the 3m cables to full speed.

Hey thanks, I didn't even know active or fiber were options for USB cables.
I'll look into those options.

USB extention cables moves anything out of the USB specification. As far as I remember, the max length for USB 2.0 was 5m and for USB 3.0 due to higher data rates 3m. Any increase can work or can result in unpredictable random errors.
