Hey guys, long time user, rare poster. I've had a WH14NS40 for a long time, today I flashed it following the instructions on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yfpf6HoMMis. I used the tool it referenced in the comments section at the following location, https://drive.google.com/file/d/102V7DU ... meZTN/view. I made sure to follow the information Mike posted in https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=19113 and downloaded the latest MK pack from https://www.makemkv.com/download/mk-fir ... 200415.zip.
This is not the first time I've done this, just the first time with this drive. I verified the drive worked fine prior to flashing it. The drive label shows Manufactured April 2012 if that matters and was on Rom Version 1.00 before I flashed it. The latest MK flash has Version 1.04 in it, so that's what it was flashed to. Just like all of the times before, it prompted me for reboot, which I did and when it came up it was detected and is showing the correct version after the flash (Below is the output showing in MakeMKV now).
However, when I try to load a regular blu-ray, or UHD disc now, it just says "No Disc Inserted". Advice? TIA for help.

LG WH14NS40 not reading discs after flash
Re: LG WH14NS40 not reading discs after flash
You just bricked your drive. Discussed and warned hundreds of times across the forum against this already. Example:
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 16&t=19071
As well as explicitly warned in the pinned UHD drives guide. You did not do proper research on this prior to flashing the drive.
Forum search and google work. Use them to find answers to these common questions/problems and/or to help and try to avoid these types of mistakes in the future. Or simply ask before jumping off the cliff.

Buy a new drive or you’ll have to go through the long drawn out process of trying to recover it if at all possible.

Thanks for reply.
I'll make the attempt, if it can't be recovered, I've owned it for almost a decade, it has lived a good life, I'll just get a new drive which I know can easily be flashed for UHD LibreDrive nbd.

Thanks for the reply. I'll make the attempt to recover and if it can't be recovered I've owned it for almost a decade, its served its purpose. I'll just buy a new drive which is friendlier and hopefully faster for UHD/LibreDrive functions.

For faster ripping speeds buy an ASUS or more expensive LG drive.dragoryte1 wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 2:15 pmThanks for the reply.
