DVD discs are detected, cannot backup or save

Post by decibels »

Hi,

I finished backing up all my Blu-ray discs with ease and now starting my DVD music/concert discs and MKV will detect the disc as the info shows up on the right. I tried an ABBA disc as well as two Bocelli disks with the same result.

The backup and save titles icons are not selectable at all, only open files is available.

Is there something that I am missing to be able to backup these discs?

Thank you for any guidance and assistance!!

"Backup" will never work for DVDs.

Does the operating system show "no disk" when you insert the DVD?

OK, so the disk is detected. When you click on the Open button, does it try reading it? Can you post what is in the debug log from opening it?

(debug logging is explained in the FAQ link in my signature)

Okay it did open the disc now with the below

Calculated BUP offset for VTS #1 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #2 does not match one in IFO header.
Calculated BUP offset for VTS #3 does not match one in IFO header.
Title #1 was added (1 cell(s), 0:05:01)
Title #2 was added (18 cell(s), 1:37:58)
Title #3 has length of 1 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #4 was added (1 cell(s), 0:15:41)
Operation successfully completed

OK, now you can select which titles you want to make into MKV files, and hit start. There is more you can do (change title names and file names, etc.), but let's start with the basics and make sure it can convert the three files that were more than 2 minutes long.

Thank you for your help thus far!

I started the process and it is creating/saving the MKV files to an external drive. Will update once completed.

If I understand correctly, these MKV files will play back directly on my Oppo 103 from the hard drive?

Okay, all files were saved successfully and I will test them later tonight on the Oppo.

Thank you
