Unable to rip custom Blu-Ray discs

#1 Post by Rancor022 » Sat Apr 25, 2020 9:04 pm

So I have a few Blu-Ray discs that I made years ago that contain home videos, animation, etc. that I made a long time ago. I had used a couple different Blu-Ray authoring tools, such as Aiseesoft Blu-Ray Creator, as well as 25GB BD-R discs. However, when I try to rip them, MakeMKV will load drive information, but won't open the disc. Instead it just says "data".

I suppose in that case it isn't possible to rip homemade Blu-Ray discs? Or is there perhaps a reason my disc is labelled as being a "data" disc?

If there is no encryption used, you SHOULD be able to simply copy the files to your hard drive, and play them from there.

You can use MKVTollNIX to convert the xxxxx.m2ts stream file(s) to mkv.
Good Luck :)

Ah that's a good suggestion, I hadn't thought about that.
