Can you explain a bit more what this means, jcdr428. For example, if I use MKVTOOLNIX today I can select the UHD playlist with the Dolby Vision track and generate an MKV with the Dolby Vision layer. Is there something currently not working with this process in MKVTOLNIX or is this request for something else?jcdr428 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 6:00 amFYI, the request for support of Dolby Vision in MKVToolNix has been accepted by Moritz Bunkus:

However, I tried 2.8.0 directly from Playstore and there's also no such thing as 'Local Network', there's only a bunch of useless added crap

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I was thinking about the stuttering issues people were having with Gemini Man and whether the combination of high frame rate and high bitrate is the cause, so here are some 30 sec sample files (video only, no audio) to see if the stutter issues changes at all. I have re-encoded the base layer to lower the overall bitrate but none of my equipment supports Dolby Vision, so I am unable to test them myself. Anyway, here are the test files.
Feel free to give them a go and report back.

Didn’t think you could re-encode the base layer as it either loses the DV descriptors or doesn’t Mux back in correctly, is this not the case?MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:07 amI was thinking about the stuttering issues people were having with Gemini Man and whether the combination of high frame rate and high bitrate is the cause, so here are some 30 sec sample files (video only, no audio) to see if the stutter issues changes at all. I don't know for sure as I my TV doesn't support DV. The re-encoded BL worked ok in yusesope's tool, so I assume it has everything it needed. That's why it I uploaded the files for testing.DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 6:31 amDidn’t think you could re-encode the base layer as it either loses the DV descriptors or doesn’t Mux back in correctly, is this not the case?MartyMcNuts wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:07 amI was thinking about the stuttering issues people were having with Gemini Man and whether the combination of high frame rate and high bitrate is the cause, so here are some 30 sec sample files (video only, no audio) to see if the stutter issues changes at all. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi everyone
I recently tried to rip few UHD BD with DVDFAB to mp4 dual layer DV with lossy audio and they playback fine on my LG E9 Plex app.
I'm willing to buy a Sony AG9 and i'm askimg if anybody with a Sony Android TV tried to playback these kind of file with Sony Tv Plex App or i need to re-rip movies in Single Layer DV Mp4 using DvdFab?
Wait for feedbacks
Thanks

Try asking over at the dvdfab forum.Vertigo86u2 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 7:21 amHi everyone

Thank you MartyMcNuts
Yes i'll search on DVDFAB forum also but the question is if someone with an Android TV Sony has succeed to playback a dual layer DV mp4 muxed ( with DVDFAB or with mp4muxer also) with Plex app on such TV.
Thanks

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Just in case - MakeMKV 1.15.1 preserves DV in MKV - please see https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=21937
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I was also curious why some were using MakeMKV to use it later with TS muxes for Atmos tracks. AFAIK, MKV should be able to preserve the ATMOS/DTS-X with lossless audio and DV at this point, correct?mike admin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 10:41 amJust in case - MakeMKV 1.15.1 preserves DV in MKV - please see https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=21937
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It can but nothing will currently play the MKV's. So we're remuxing them with TSMuxer to TS so that we can play them on other devices like the SHIELD Pro 2019 in Plex. At least, that's what I'm doing.mulucy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:33 pmI was also curious why some were using MakeMKV to use it later with TS muxes for Atmos tracks. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Yep, this is the current solution. However, now that 1.15.1 is out we're waiting for the other shoe to drop where certain software players (Plex etc) update their code to natively handle these files. Once that happens it will greatly simplify our DV UHD backup process.mulucy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 16, 2020 12:33 pmI was also curious why some were using MakeMKV to use it later with TS muxes for Atmos tracks. Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hello my friends.
Excuse my poor English, I'm French
I have read all 144 pages and still have same problem : my TV play well .mp4 DV but not my .ts of the same source.
Source is Alita DV teaser demo.mp4 and my TV don't play it.
So, I've demuxed BL.hevc and EL.hevc then remuxed in .mp4 forced DV Profile 4 with mp4muxer and this one play fine on my tv. (EL : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.04.06, EL+RPU, SDR compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible)
I also tried with yusescope V3 rev1 tool then remuxed in .mp4 forced DV Profile 4 with mp4muxer and this one play fine too. (Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.04.06, BL+EL+RPU, SDR compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible)
Works fine with forced DV Profile 5 too, but not in yusescope V3 rev1 tool -mode 2 : Black screen
But file .ts made with tsmuxer with the same BL and EL don't work on my TV. (Video format not supported)
I don't understand. I've tried lot of tsmuxer version (edited,04.06 fix, patched, nightly...)
I don't understand because I've a lot of LG DV demo .ts (dvhe.04.06 BL+EL+RPU) that work on my TV.
For .mp4 files only DV Profile 4 and 5 can work, not 7 or 8. Can't try Profile 6 don't have found the good mp4muxer for.
And for .ts files made with tsmuxer, none of them work, and I can't have dvhe 04.06 with dual layer, only 07.05.
If anyone know what's the problem and help please ?
Thank you a lot guys
Source Dual Layer .mp4 DV Profile 7 : doesn't work
Dual Layer MP4 Forced DV Profile 4 with mp4muxer : Works
Single Layer MP4 Forced DV Profile 4 with yusescope V3 rev1 tool mp4muxer : Works and DV Profile 5 works too.
Single Layer .ts Profile 4 (dvhe 04 06) : Doesn't work
Dual layer DV Profile 7 : Doesn't work, can't have DV Profile 4
LG DV demo .ts Profile 4 : Works
