Opening multiple instances of MakeMKV on Win10
Opening multiple instances of MakeMKV on Win10
I have 8 optical drives in my system and MakeMKV does an awesome job ripping DVDs and BDs from them.
Is there a way to run a batch file (or similar) to have Windows 10 open 8 MakeMKV GUI instances, each assigned to a unique drive?
Thanks

Re: Opening multiple instances of MakeMKV on Win10
I have not tried to see if this works for multiple drives but you can open multiple instances of the software by going to your MKV shortcut and adding -launch in the "Target" section of the shortcut properties.
Should look something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\makemkv.exe" -launch
Should look something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\MakeMKV\makemkv.exe" -launch

Thanks - I tried added the -launch and there was no difference on how the app responded.

Re: Opening multiple instances of MakeMKV on Win10
Thanks - I have already had that checked and has been working as designed.
I just want to have a batch file (or the like) to open 8 distinct instances of MakeMKV and have each instance assigned to a unique drive.
Would be a nice feature to have it done automatically vs manually opening 8 instances and assigning drives to each.

I did a quick scan of the executable, and there doesn't seem to be a command line switch to select which drive to associate an instance to.

This is exactly what i am looking for. Is there a way this can be added on the next software revision?
Re: Opening multiple instances of MakeMKV on Win10
Considering that you've tagged onto a 4+ year old topic and it still isn't implemented, I don't really think it's coming.
Once you turn on "ask for single drive mode" in the Properties->IO box, you can turn single-drive mode on whenever you want, and assign a drive to the current instance when you start it. Once it's on, you'll be asked any time there is the POSSIBILITY of assigning individual drives, like when you plug in a USB drive that you don't normally use.
