When I add the BL_EL_RPL.hevc into tsmuxerGUI, is it supposed to be shown as only 1 layer? I'm afraid the error comes from that hevc file, not tsmuxer.![]()
thats the old tsMuxer so of course it wont work.. get the latest version posted here

Mmm, blu ray .com has Mission Impossible listed as Fel but it works on my Oppo after Yusepoe 3 tool and TS muxer, 1917 is listed as FEL also but doesn’t work (IDK).
Is there anyway to be sure what is FEL and what isn’t?

You can use something like BDInfo to scan for the bitrate of the EL track. MELs tracks will have a very low bitrates (10s to low 1000s at most kbps) while FELs will have bitrates in the mid to upper 1000s of kbps. I believe you should also be able to tell from the size of the EL hevc file when extracted. MEL files will be relatively small compared to the FEL files.DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:22 pmMmm, blu ray .com has Mission Impossible listed as Fel but it works on my Oppo after Yusepoe 3 tool and TS muxer, 1917 is listed as FEL also but doesn’t work (IDK).

General rule is that if the EL layer is about ~2Mb/s or lower, then it's MEL. FEL usually have much higher Mb/s. This page might be of help as well: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=276448DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:22 pmMmm, blu ray .com has Mission Impossible listed as Fel but it works on my Oppo after Yusepoe 3 tool and TS muxer, 1917 is listed as FEL also but doesn’t work (IDK).

But I think some FEL will simply will not play. I have conducted extensive testing on The Fog, which has a pretty big FEL, and have not been able to do it on Shield. The errors I got were audio track related, but it makes no sense, since the same tracks work with standard HDR track. But right now I'm stuck, don't know what to look for anymore and it's really annoying me.

actually, is there any way to mux DV video with Atmos into an mp4? I think mp4muxer does not work with Atmos tracks or I don't know how to do it properly.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
That's unfortunately not possible. Part of the reason for this whole endeavor is the lack of support for lossless audio in mp4s.

Can confirm The Fog will not play on the shield using the latest tools.1000010 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 7:58 pmGeneral rule is that if the EL layer is about ~2Mb/s or lower, then it's MEL. Only thing that I know is different from the other movies I have done is this is a 24fps movie and not 23.976fps.
No idea if that is messing something up.

Looking at that list of movies, some other titles that include similarly sized FELs (>10mb/s) are Cliffhanger, Dredd, Evil Dead 2, Leon the Professional, Skyscraper, and Universal Soldier. If anyone has any of those titles, maybe it's worth a try to see if it's an issue with the large FEL layer?

I just tried Dredd which has a larger FEL than The Fog and it worked just fine.
Only thing I see now is maybe the 24p is messing something up?
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Could be, do you have an LG TV to test if the Fog might play through the internal player? It'll probably give you a message saying audio is not supported, but if the video plays without issue, then maybe the issue is with the Shield not liking the 24fps.Angryunibrow wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:59 amshawnc22 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 2:10 amLooking at that list of movies, some other titles that include similarly sized FELs (>10mb/s) are Cliffhanger, Dredd, Evil Dead 2, Leon the Professional, Skyscraper, and Universal Soldier. Thanks. It shows Dolby Vision during playback now, but the film stutters and freezes every 2 seconds. I'm playing it on an external hdd connected to LG C9 OLED via usb.RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 23, 2020 6:56 pmhere it is: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q5v4-J ... sp=sharing

I have the same thing on LG C7 with all .ts or .m2ts files i made in dvhe.04.06.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 6:53 amThanks. It shows Dolby Vision during playback now, but the film stutters and freezes every 2 seconds. I'm playing it on an external hdd connected to LG C9 OLED via usb.
Dolby Vision logo, but freezes every 2 seconds.
The same movie in .mp4 and dvhe.07.06 play perfectly.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It's not that, I think tsmuxer does something wrong. If you mux the whole movie with mp4muxer without sound it will work on the Shield without a problem in DV. But if you mux it with tsmuxer with any soundtrack it will not work. MA track throws exceptions that I posted earlier. Single LPCM track works, but only in standard HDR without DV. Tried to mux DV video also with both MA and LPCM audio tracks and it produces the same error as with single MA track. This is really confusing and the reason why I think tsmuxer is messing things up.shawnc22 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 4:20 amCould be, do you have an LG TV to test if the Fog might play through the internal player? Could you please test what I tested and confirm? I double checked everything but the results just make no sense.Angryunibrow wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 1:03 amCan confirm The Fog will not play on the shield using the latest tools.

Thanks for trying.DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 9:17 pmHi, Following the guide can't get FEL to work on the oppp, the file does work in HDR10 on the 2017 shield, can't check on the 2019 shield as it is at my weekend address (won't be there again till Friday)…
If you have time, could you please try what follows with a MEL movie?
yusesope wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:45 amSince you own an OPPO 203, could you do me this favour: while playing a movie (my tool + tsMuxer, please try both a FEL and an MEL movie), can you press the "info" button and take a screenshot (both for the Multimedia information section and for the HDMI output information section)?
It is important, however, that in the player settings, Color Space and Color depth (Video Output Setup) are set to AUTO.

Thank you
It would be interesting to see how another software would handle the matter.
I am therefore trying to modify at bit level the .ts files produced by FFmpeg.
I did some experiments using THIS file and HERE you can find the results.
If your device plays the original file, test the files I edited.
If there is a positive response (I have my doubts but there is no harm in trying!), I will explain what and how I did it.
Thank you.
