I have know made M2ts files with hd audio on all my 56 DV movies. Every movie play perfect on shield 2019 with DV and Atmos/dts x sound.

1 demux with eac3to Eac3to path to moviefolder 2:bl.hevc 3:el.hevc

2 tak the 2 files and import them into yuseope tool v02

3 use tsmuxer modified Version, mux file made by yuseope tool with audio from Blu-ray.

https://drive.google.com/uc?id=10zOr0IU ... t=download
How do you play them if i may ask? With Plex? Or maybe MX Player?

I've been following this thread for a few days. Great work. I've looked through all 114 pages and I thing I understand the current workflow.

Extract the BL and EL

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -i bluray:C:\Video\backup\SHAZAM -map 0:0 -c copy C:\Video\BL.hevc -map 0:1 -c copy C:\Video\EL.hevc
Use yuseope's v0.0.3 tool to combine BL and EL

Code: Select all

python src\bl_el_rpu_builder.py -bl C:\Video\BL.hevc -el C:\Video\EL.hevc -of C:\Video\bl_el_rpu_builder_v0.0.3\Shazam.hevc
Open the modified tsMuxerGUI.exe. (11f852a)
Open the backup disk main mpls playlist file.
Insert the newly created Shazam.hevc and select it with the check box.
Select TRUE-HD AC3 core+TRUE-HD 7.1 with the check box.
Uncheck everything else and then start demuxing as a ts file.

When I complete these steps I have an issue with playback.

My setup:
105 MB/s avg. throughput on gigabit Ethernet
Plex server (Plex Pass)
Shield 2019 with plex app (not pro)
Vizio PX75G1
Denon receiver with Atmos 5.1.2 speaker setup

When I play the ts file my TV shows Dolby Vision, my receiver shows Dolby Atmos/DSur and Plex lists it a AC3 5.1. However, about 9 seconds into the movie shudders and freezes. I can fast forward. It will jump ahead but it freezes up again. I also tried playback from an SD card on my streaming device. Same thing so I don't think it's network related.

I also ran the remuxing and created an m2ts file. This file plays smooth with great audio sync. However it appears that I loose the Dolby Vision indicator. My receiver shows Dolby Atmos and Plex lists it a TRUE HD 7.1

To run some further tests I gave Dolby's mp4muxer a try with the same BL EL hevc files and an AC3 5.1 audio track I extracted with the modified tsMuxerGUI.

Code: Select all

mp4muxer --dv-profile 7 --input-file C:\Video\BL.hevc --input-file C:\Video\EL.hevc --input-file C:\Video\00800.track_4353.ac3 --media-lang eng --output-file B:\Media\Calibration\Shazam_ver2.mp4
This worked as others have reported. Dolby Vision indicator, smooth audio video but it has AC3 5.1

Any ideas on what might be going on? Below is the MediaInfo on the files.

Not sure if this will fix your issue, but on first time playback of the TS file, you have to manually select the TRUEHD 7.1 audio track and not the AC3 5.1. Because of the AC3 core in the atmos track, plex will default to the ac3 5.1 track. Your video track is also not showing BL+EL+RPU, only BL+RPU. It might be the version of TSMuxer you're using. m2ts will also not work with DV+atmos, only TS will.

Thanks, I'll take a look at selecting the audio track in plex. A few pages back there's a link for a tsmuxer v0.0.2 at https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HWf-l ... 4n70PDFeb-

Ran everything through tsmuxer v0.0.2 and this time the ts file shows BL+EL+RPU. Below is the MediaData. I haven't had a chance yet to test it on my TV.

With plex on shield 2019

Anyone tried 1917 ?

I'm testing @yusesope newest version of the tool but playback stops at exactly 1min16 on the shield (tried 3 times). BL+EL+RPU+Atmos
Fast forward also stop playback with the same error.

as usual , Dual layer TS + Atmos works like a charm on the x700. that movie looks amazing in DV btw.
Had same error on some movies, you must turn off pgs subtitles.
Where do you have to turn it off?
With plex you can see before you start the movie if subtitles is on

Hi all,

I'm a little confused. I heard/read that it was not possible to use Dolby Vision/Atmos with M2TS files but Mortenjorstad wrote that he made 56 dv movies.
So i tried it too with the movie 1917 and played it on the shield tv pro. My tv is the Lg Oled C7 and it triggers dv. My receiver is the Denon 4300h and shows Atmos.

When i look to the info file it looks good.

Ah my fault, that does look good. It was earlier on in the process that people weren’t able to get m2ts working and only ts, maybe that’s changed in the more recent versions of tsmuxer and just that nobody has tried. Did you experience the same playback issues that RESET_999 was having?

@Shawnc22

I still have to try with subs but without subs it kept playing although i let it only play for a few minutes. I am going to try it with subs as well.
On MX Player it runs fine when you start, also with subs.(HW decoder) When you set it on pause and continue then there's no problem but when you stop the movie and want to continue then it gets to HW+ and it shows hdr10 plus stereo. When i want togo back to HW i get the message that HW isn't supported. That's of course strange because when you start the movie it plays perfect.

I just tried PGS subs with plex and then i get the message that it can't process the subs well and it continues without subs.

This time it's not my fault  !
There seems to be a little bit missing in the BL Layer: my program is in eternal expectation of a data that will never arrive! What is the title of the movie?
Ah odd that the temp version of the v2 tool worked and v3 did not.
v0.0.2 was bugged: for this reason has been replaced by version 0.0.3 (which has instead identified the problem)
The "The source file seems to be damaged" is quite explanatory.

############################################################
I also took a look at the tsMuxeR code and I think I have identified the reason why your .ts files are marked with the profile dvhe.08 (the profile dvhe.04 should be the right one since dvhe.08 does not have the Enhancement Layer).

I believe the problem occurs HERE: all Single Track Double Layer files are treated as Single Track Single Layer files.

Examples:
  • THIS LG demo (dvhe.04) is remuxed in a dvhe.05 file
  • Joker's BL + EL + RPU raw stream that I uploaded some time ago (HERE) is flagged as dvhe.08 (like your remuxes).
The choice of the profile is due to the value of "DVCompatibility"

The presence of EL should be used to distinguish a Double Layer file from a Single Layer file.

If any of you attend the tsMuxeR developer forum, could you please report it?
So they can check if I said a nonsense or not

Wow, so much activity recently. Great job on the progress.

As far as X700 goes, is there anything this new tool from yusesope adds over a tsMuxer remux?
Sony X700 -> Onkyo TX-RZ830 -> LG C8

So they can check if I said a nonsense or not
I have posted it on the forum for you

Hy guys, anybody know what's the best way to embed sub/idx or ass subtitles into the DV mp4? I play my DV files via X700 and for some reason it can't read ass subs properly and sub/idx at all, if I put them in the same folder as DV mp4. Thanks!

You don't have to use the MP4 container anymore with the x700. You can remux your UHD bluray disc directly to .TS or .M2TS using this tsMuxer:

DV, Atmos and subs will work.

So one last thing with that problematic movie. I stripped out the BL layer from the mkv that I made out of the original disk, and it surprisingly mixed successfully (equal AUDs) with the EL layer I had extracted prior from the decrypted M2TS. But once muxed back into the TS container with the Atmos audio, there was definitely a hiccup in the video at the 0:43:35 mark and the audio became desynced thereafter. Odd that there was no hiccup in playback of the mkv file though at the same point, so the EL is seemingly the problematic source even though the original BL was the one with the missing AUD.

Anyways moving on, I wanted to test out your theory with the tsmuxer code but didn't really want to dig through the whole logic with DVCompatibility (nor do I really understand it), so I just commented out that entire conditional block with the "Duallayers" variable and simply forced the DV profile to 4 (bitWriter.putBits(7,4)). After compiling this small change in a5180007's latest build, i retested the Joker BL+EL+RPU file and out came with this:

Code: Select all

Triggers DV on the shield and looks pretty much the same as the profile 8 video. Again, I know what I did was very hacky as I was just curious if changing the DV profile would do anything  . Perhaps after the devs take a look at it and implement a real change, there will be some noticeable differences.
