BIN file from LG Drive flash EXE file
BIN file from LG Drive flash EXE file
Hello everybody, I was wondering if anybody had an idea or could point me to a direction how to get a BIN flash file out of the EXE files that LG is providing for flashing their drives? Link for the flash files is: https://www.lg.com/jp/support/support-p ... g-BH14NS48. After extracting the EXE files, I can see that there is a file called 103 that seems to be the file for flashing, but it is not a .bin file unfortunately. I was also thinking about building that 103 file into an existing file like BH14NS40_N1.00-A4_patched.exe that is found on this site here, but I have not been able to find any information how to create a flasher .exe file. Thank you for taking your time. Regards.

Re: BIN file from LG Drive flash EXE file
Thank you for your response. I am getting "Checksum is mismatched. Drive will go to boot mode Please retry again". I will keep looking into it further. Have tried the extractor and also have run the command in Ubuntu VM, but getting the same issue. Have tried some other alternative .bin files from mk-firmware-pack-20200214, they flash OK, but drive does not detect that there is a disk in the drive.

Amazing. I've never seen any single reference to NS48 drive, not a single FW dump or reference. Are these drives being made?

Re: BIN file from LG Drive flash EXE file
I picked this drive up few years ago and MakeMKV software noted that it was possible to use it for LibreDrive, so I thought I would give it a Go. Thank you for the .bin files. It looks like it is not really allowing me to flash it in Windows as I get the same error: "Checksum is mismatched. Drive will go to boot mode Please retry again". Do you think I should flash it in DOS or use a Linux VM for this?

Re: BIN file from LG Drive flash EXE file
Do not flash. This is a so-called "type 2" firmware, with old memory layout but also with all vendor commands. These fw (and your current ones) are not supported, but they will be rather soon, without any need for fw update.MikeyAlt wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 12:35 amI picked this drive up few years ago and MakeMKV software noted that it was possible to use it for LibreDrive, so I thought I would give it a Go. As for the flashing tool, this is the bets one (! ), if you don't mind the command line - https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=21278
