How about this - Not Atmos, but HD Audio in a single layer using the new tool.
I converted the Atmos to DTS-HD MA 7.1 and used MP4BOX to mux it into the Single Layer file.

Of course I'm not at home to test this yet

Wasn't sure if MP4BOX would mux in an Atmos file?

Hey, this not related to single layer remux playback but could your tool be able to export the RPU data only in a file that would be accepted by x265.exe? maybe like the .json file created by the HDR10+parser ?

I would like to experiment profile 5 single layer encoding.

And here is the file with Atmos, Atmos in the .mp4 container does not show properly in mediainfo.
The software I use on my server does register Atmos though.

Again, I need to wait until I get home to test these files on the Shield.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I’m trying to create the file in MP4Muxer, and I was able to create a DL DV MP4 file with the BL+EL, but when I try to mux the BL_EL_RPU.hevc file that was generated with yusesope’s tool, MP4muxer is generating a 0 byte file. Any suggestions?

Yusesope’s tool appears to have generated the BL_EL_RPU.hevc correctly (it’s the size of the BL+EL combined) but MP4Muxer just doesn’t seem to do anything with it.

Are you letting mp4muxer finish?
On my NVME drives it takes 7-8 minutes probably (for an entire movie that is)

I am testing a full movie remux using the BL+EL+RPU tool (John Wick Chapter 3). I will let you all know how it goes.

It seems to finish. It goes over to the next line in command prompt, ready for another input.

I’m only using a 4 minute file, and it was able to create a dual layer file in a minute or two, but that’s not the case with the single layer HEVC. It finishes almost immediately - after entering the command, it waits for a second or two and then goes to the next like in command prompt ready for another input.

I’ll try to do more troubleshooting when I get back home as I had to leave, was just curious if anyone had the problem. For all I know a simple restart of my PC will fix it.

Seems to work with mp4muxer, plays nicely on the shield, audio says truehd when I look in the plex settings but no audio, I'm guessing the only current option for Atmos is still the yusesope player. Still great work making a proper single layer DV file :)

May I ask what profile you tested, 4 or 7?
I'll be testing 4 files when I get home, I made both profiles - Not sure what the difference is.

2 Files with DTS-HD MA 7.1 - Profile 4 & 7
2 Files with Atmos (Which I do not think will play) - Profile 4 & 7

I'm trying to be optimistic, at least mediainfo is looking good :) Looking forward to some comparison shots and people with HDfury checking

Yes this new method looks promising. unlike dvdfab SL, the BL + EL + RPU are present & same size as the original, so everything seems right. I just hope the shield will actually make use of the EL.

HDfury wont tell us anything special because DV(fake or not) is always sent in an 8bit RGB container on my setup (denon avr ---> C8).

But I can do some screenshot comparison if i get a chance tonight.

Hi,

What media player do Shield TV users are using to play single DV? Kodi? Other? Thanks
