#1 Post by Bagdad48 » Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:41 pm

I have tried ripping Step Brothers UHD 4K with 3 different discs. Tried cleaning them all and I get the same results.

Your drive found a spot it couldn't read:
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00341.m2ts' at offset '190144512'
Then it spent a long time trying to read it, and Windows decided it was off-line:
Error 'OS error - STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR' occurred while reading '\Device\CdRom0' at offset '190144512'
Usually that means you have a dirty spot on the disk, and cleaning will take care of it. Yes, even if it looks "perfectly clean".

That would be an amazing coincidence that 3 random discs all had the same dirty spot on a UHD disc that were bought at 3 different times. Cleaning the disc on all 3 copies did not make a difference. I have ripped over 200 UHD 4K HDR discs and this is the only movie that wont burn. Don't think your analogy of simply cleaning it for 3 separate discs is the correct assessment.

Correct. It suggests a drive problem with reading that particular disc.

I have had this same issue with two different disc as well. I have a had a few disc that fail but usually after getting a replacement everything works. I think it might be the subpar quality of the disc used for the release.
