I purchased the disc from Best Buy and an cannot even open it, receiving the message: "Failed to open disc".

Edit: Nevermind, I was also receiving the "automatic sdf downloading is disabled or failed" while decrypting message. I used the instructions in this post to fix my DNS: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17848&start=105#p80230 and am backing up the full disc now. Instead of using Google DNS, I used Cloudfare (1.1.1.1) as the primary DNS and Quad 9 (9.9.9.9) as the backup DNS.

I never really paid attention or noticed that message and have been ripping UHD discs intermittently, but never titles so new. Now that I am "caught up" and ripped a newer title, I looked at the messages to see what may be causing the issue. Thanks to this forum.

After some digging and matching, for those of you who are ripping the raw movie from 4K disc, the title I found to be the accurate one from beginning to end is "Midway_t70". The other files start at different points of the movie but this one starts accurately from the beginning.

This is completely different from the title (504) being delivered in Fab, (which is neither here nor there since Fab is failing to deliver a working rip), but it would be nice to see some confirmation of this for the US BB non-steelbook edition.

I ripped and watched 504, which is what dvdfab said was correct for my best buy disc. I used makemkv to rip a folder backup and then another product to rip 504. No issues with payback.

Massive sync A-V issues here, will try a MakeMKV generated MKV and see what its like. What did you use to create the file?

I always use CloneBD to create my MKV's from a MakeMKV ripped folder backup. I've been using this method for a long time now.

^^^
I tried that, as well as an MKV ripped directly from the disc by MakeMKV, the results are the same either way (good) and 504 does appear to be a correct playlist. Again, BB purchased non steelbook release.

504 correct
I tested DV .mp4 version and regular HDR10 makemkv version
Very minor differences in visual quality, a bit more shadow detail in darker scenes that's about it w/DV

I assume this playlist is for Amazon 4K and not BB correct? My UHD is from Amazon.

Slightly off topic, but do you use this method for DTS:X and traditional DTS-HD MA movies? I use the same method for all Atmos discs, but with everything else, the file generated by MakeMKV seems just fine.

I do, yes. I have NOTHING against MakeMKV or the output (ATMOS in MKV being a given issue), but, I do prefer CloneBD's interface for selecting titles. It's purely a personal preference on how I rip my MKV's. MakeMKV does an excellent job.

Is this something MakeMKV could fix with a patch?
