Come on Marty, you've not written a front end for makemkv flashing yet? Just teasing as we know Mike is working on one but wouldn't that be fun? Lol

Trust me I thought about it myself. I'll probably whip something together for my own personal amusement in dot net this weekend just for fun. I won't release it because as you said, this is Mike's thunder.

No no no. I have multiple drives. Lol. A nice drop down with enumerated drive list. Then a file picker that lets you point to the mk firmware zip and auto enumerates all the firmware within it into another drop down, sorted with your selected drive's native mk firmware at the top of the list.

Hello! I need help.

I bought a WH16NS40-NS50 drive, and comes with firmware 1.04.

I'm trying to flash firmware 1.02 on it, but I'm getting "Updating Failure #4", when I try to do it with the modified ASUS flasher.
I also tried 1.03, but I got the same message.

Just want to confirm.... Are ASUS BW-16D1HT that are being sold today still capable of being downgraded to 3.02? Do you have to locate and install a patched version of 3.1 (if that's what it has out of box) then downgrade to 3.02?

Thanks
Yes, they are. Just flash 3.10-MK first. Then you can flash 3.02. Both of these firmwares are included with the modified ASUS flasher in the first post of this thread.
Thanks so much for this tool! I did my first drive with bootable flash drive , dosflash using hex editor and drive in sata0.

MartyMcNuts at another site helped me.
The solution was to flash a 1.04MK file on the drive.
While there was no 1.04 file for WH16NS40, there is one for WH14NS40.
I successfully flashed my drive with that file, and that alone made it read 4K Ultra HD Blu-Ray discs, as well as giving it LibreDrive support!
Thanks anyways.

Yep, so much easier than the "old skool" dosflash!!

Thanks again. For ASUS Drive, what is rational of either going back to 3.02 or using 3.10MK?

3.10-MK is quite a bit faster so stick with it. I suggest only going back to 3.02 if you come across a UHD that just won't rip on 3.10-MK.

I'm having difficulties with the flasher on my External LG BP50NB40 NB50 1.01 on a Win10 Pro system.
The flasher shows error #5 when I try to use the DE_LG_BP50NB40-NB50_1.01_MK_HBD.bin file. What am I doing wrong here? :?
