Slow converting
I am using a LG External Blu ray drive with reading number 8 is it normal for a blu ray to take a hour/ little over a hour to rip the disc. I am new a ripping blu ray don’t know much about it.
Re: Slow converting
Best answer I can give is, "It depends!"
Using an external drive, you have multiple factors involved, including the speed of the connection of the drive. With an LG drive, you add the possibility that it is currently "rate limited" by the firmware to about 2X ripping of video content. And some BDs are slow to read, if they have any "marginal areas" where it takes more than one attempt to read the data.

Re: Slow converting
I have an internal drive that can take over an hour sometimes. So I wouldn't be surprised about an external drive taking awhile.
Re: Slow converting
FYI: "Rate limited" = riplock.
