I did more than 60 Dolby Vision dual layer files.
Except Gemini Man (60fps=>stutter) and Universal Soldier (peak > 100 Mbps), all of them play fine on my C7.
What did you use to play them with? I try usb and some stutter (hdr10 always play fine but some dolby vision files do not). I want to try plex but the speed is limited by the internet.
mp4 files are on a DS416J nas.
The LG C7 Player access them in dlna.

No buffering? I tried content sharing between my pc and oled c9 and it keeps buffering.

no buffering at all, as long as the average bitrate of the file is below 85 Mbps.
max ethernet speed of the tv (network=Gigabit and fiber=1000/400 Mbps)

you just need to upgrade your home network LAN to support gigabit ethernet between various ethernet ports on your devices, cat cables and the router.

Ok so I did further testing with 3 movies: Hereditary, Paddington 2 and Gemini Man. They are played from my external hard drive connected to my c9 oled via usb.

-If I use Grencola tool, Hereditary & Paddington 2 in dolby vision suffer heavy stutterring. However, if I use the original method (ts muxer & mp4muxer), Hereditary & Paddington 2 in dolby vision play smoothly. Why is this the case?

-Regardless of what tool I use, Gemini Man in dolby vision always plays at lower than 60 fps. The hdr10 version however plays correctly at 60 fps. Any fix?

basically you're comparing eac3to.exe (used in my tool) and tsmuxer.exe.. eac3to will do the job 9 times out of 10 just fine. some releases have the odd frame error and eac3to can slip up.

I see. I thought both are exactly the same.

Any idea to make gemini man dolby vision runs correctly at 60fps?

So can i in theory use dual layer dolby visions files on a fast usb drive then connect it too my shield tv pro(2019),and then what player should i use that is compatible with that?

is all about the hardware. 4k 60fps @ 80mbps (~110 peak) is tough. you need fast components and even faster internet (if streaming). local media from an ssd or usb 3.0 drive on a tv w/ usb 3.0 would be ok so long as the tv model is adequate. even the shield pro with its crazy fast soc (tegra x1+) struggles on high bitrate 4k 60fps content.

when shield pro says it does dolby vision. it means it has the license and decoder for dvhe 5.06, a single layer profile meant for streaming. it won't play dual layer files. dvdfab can change around your dual layer files into single layer mp4s, but possibly at the risk of just getting hdr10 with a dolby flag on your tv.

The hdr10 version runs fine at true 60 fps on my c9 via external hdd though. Only the dolby vision version runs at lower than 60fps (can tell by eyes). Is dolby vision more demanding hardware wise?

today i was reading the manual of the philips 804 i bought, and i found this:

Image

What do you think it means? The assistance was unable to give me even half the information, they were able to say only "read the technical data sheet". I have not understood if he intends that the reader inside the TV is castrated at 30 \ 40 mpbs, or what else ...
The player inside the TV does not allow you to check the information of the video, so I don't know how much effective bandwidth it is from a Dolby Vision movie inserted from USB which theoretically should also have 80 mpbs ...
