Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

i just got the quick question of is their a way to convert existing dual layer Dolby Vision mp4's too single layer? i got dvdfab and i don't see anywhere how to do it :/

Author it to a uhd iso or file structure with DVDfab then re-convert back to single layer mp4.

Thanks for that info but their is one issue:

Can't do passthrough so it will convert it instead :/ and idk if that will work

Has anyone made a single-layer remux of Rambo: Last Blood with DVDFab? So far I've only made two before; Casino Royale and Gemini Man, both played fine and looked fantastic on my 2019 Philips Android TV with MX Player. I use 1536k E-AC-3 audio on my personal remuxes for maximum compatibility.. Plus my sound system is shit so it doesn't really matter. Anyway, The Rambo remux looked like black and white with green tint with Dolby Vision.. HDR10 version works just fine. Anyone else had issues with this title?

I made a single layer of Rambo Last Blood and it plays fine on my LG B7. Made it with DVDFab 11.0.5.1

Thanks, I'll re-do it with 11.0.6.5 again and if that doesn't work I'll try downgrading! Sadly my TV can't play dual-layer files, that would be fool proof since we're not 100% sure if DVDFab has properly reverse-enginereed the black magic called Dolby Vision..

can't you just use Dolby's mp4 demuxer ( https://github.com/DolbyLaboratories/dl ... 64bits.exe ) to extract the 2 hevcs and the ac3 file from your dv mp4 then add them in TSMuxer to make a new m2ts output that you can then add to dvdfab?

can't you just use Dolby's mp4 demuxer ( https://github.com/DolbyLaboratories/dl ... 64bits.exe ) to extract the 2 hevcs and the ac3 file from your dv mp4 then add them in TSMuxer to make a new m2ts output that you can then add to dvdfab?

Or run your mp4 through mkvtoolnix then add that, I’m sure I did that with Gladiator.

So i just wanted to do quick write-up about an issue I was having over the past couple of days trying to get Alita: Battle Angel setup and working with yusesope's player.
I was having an issue with mp4box throwing "incomplete box" errors and not playing in yusesope's player(playback failed, error), as if the file was incomplete or corrupted.
come to find out dvdfab had somehow messed up the output. this was discovered by using Mediainfo on the dvdfab output, which showed me "istruncated: yes"
did some more testing with ripping the disc multiple times, in multiple ways, with the same results.
then i noticed the "choose other titles" option in dvdfab. and low and behold there was a whole lot of other streams, several of which where smaller than the full thing.
Went through previewing the titles and they were all(aside from the big main title) parts of the whole.
so as an experiment, I found all the parts to make the whole. and once outputted none were truncated (good sign).
individually tested each file to make sure they worked with yusesope's player, and they did.
then with a little research on mp4box and found the it can actually combine (referred to as concatenates) multiple videos
so with this command and i was able to get the file up and functioning

mp4box -add video1.mp4 -cat video2.mp4 -cat video3.mp4 -cat video4.mp4 output.mp4

Now if you do need to use this make sure you input the files in the correct order.

and so far this has seemed to work just fine.

I just tried this and worked perfectly, I didn't watch the entire movie but everything is in sync, I even made a DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio from the Atmos and that sync'd up just fine.

How did you make DTS from Atmos? Is it a command for ffmpeg? Thanks!

In the scheme of things because you are losing object placement you might as well make a flac file or very high quality 7.1 aac file IMO.

I have had 3 files that don’t play correctly on my LG c7 and c9 out of the 23 I have converted, those files however play correct on the Shield pro 2019...

I’ve heard the questions also and don’t agree, I watched Terminator dark fate in HDR10 on my 65” LG C9 and then watched it again in single layer DV on my 55” C7, I preferred the picture on the C7, whatever it does it does something better.
