Hello,

I would like to translate a film for my students in the class next monday.

Is it posible to extract .srt (or other subtitle type of file) from a BR disk?

Bluray rarely uses text-based subtitles; they have their own, PGS, which is a set of images.

To get an SRT, you would have to extract the PGS file, and use an OCR program to convert it to text. This is not an exact process; typically 98% accuracy is considered "good" for OCR, unless it's been trained for a specific font and language.

There are programs to do some of this for you. Searching for "subtitle conversion" on your favorite search engine will find them for you.

There is also searching for existing SRT subtitles; there are a number of sites that have SRT files in dozens of languages for most popular movies and TV series.
