Hey guys,
I have a BD Rip and located the main movie file with MakeMKV Beta which is about 21GB. Now after processing that file with MakeMKV Beta I get an output that is 17GB big. Now my question is:
Do I lose quality (picture and/or sound) when making a .mkv out of the original bluray movie or is the quality exactly (!) the same?

Losing quality?
Re: Losing quality?
No, your original rip was in M2TS container. remuxing to mkv saves ~10%
Quality will be the same, makemkv does not and cannot change quality.

@FoxMulder
Hi!
A reduction of 4Gigs sounds a bit high to be JUST the difference in container overheads of the two formats.
I'm guessing that, whether you observed it or not, in the audio selections of the "Titles tree", there was at least one HD audiostream that was DE-selected by default...
