Both segment lists are identical. So there must be other differences. I'll rip both titles and compare the output and give feedback later.

Ok, everything is the same (video, audio). The only difference is visible in the regular english subtitle. And it looks like "801" is the revised final version (801 left, 803 right):

A playlist (.mpls) does not only contain a table, which of the "STREAM" files in which order should be used. It also has tables that define, which subtitles and which audio tracks from the stream file(s) should be available to the player software. If you have a stream file with e.g. an English, a German and a Chinese audio track, then you may have one playlist with a table that maps to the English and German audio tracks and another playlist (which looks identical to the first) maps to the Chinese audio track.
There is an open source software named "BDInfo" where you can see the difference. It can load and display all playlists from a Blu-Ray. It also tries to analyze the stream files but it normally fails because they are encrypted. But if you check the output for the playlists, you will see the difference.

I know that. The question is how to determine the correct track as fast as possible. You suggested BDInfo. I tried it but I do not see a way to solve this task (finding out that that 801 uses a different subtitle than 803). The app does not highlight differences between tracks and does not show the filesize, track id, etc of the different subtitles or similar. Finally the only way to compare the playlists is to select the playlist in BDInfo, press "view report", copy the text into a new text file for both playlists, open both files and compare them through PSPad Editor:

But then I still do not know which subtitle is different and what the differences are. I still need to rip both MKVs, extract all subtitles through gMKVExtractGUI, OCR' them with Subtitle Edit and compare the texts with PSPad Editor. And this is how I did it before. So BDInfo does not speed up this process or I did not found the relevant function in this app.
