I can settle for DD+ & Atmos, but that doesn't look like is happening anytime soon for ripped UHDs. That just leaves the .mp4 container DV with TrueHD Atmos open

You can enjoy Dolby Vision and audio without loss of quality on your x700 just because every day enthusiasts make small discoveries.
MP4 + ATMOS (playable, for now, only on PC) is another small step forward.

I've not been able to test anything in Plex on the shield because for some stupid reason I can't get the beta to push to it. They said it could take "some time" but ummmm. LOL I'm sure it'll show up eventually. You know, when they push it out of beta. LMAO UGH

Are you a Plex Pass subscriber? If you are, you can sideload the beta located here and then you’ll have access to the new beta. I just enrolled yesterday, so as long as you’re a Plex Pass subscriber the beta APK will work.

Yes, I'm a lifetime plex pass owner, but, I'm not dealing with sideloading apk's on the shield right now. I'm not worried. There are bugs they need to fix anyway so I can wait.

I also tried the file on Amazon Firestick 4K (which supports DV single layer profile 5 through emby) and it plays in HDR.

Who wants ATMOS + MP4 on Android?

I created a custom codec for MX Player (based on the work of USBhost from XDA).
My Android tablet (Huawei Mediapad M3) is now able to correctly reproduce the TrueHD/ATMOS track inside the MP4 file.

To confirm what I said in my previous posts, the implementation is purely software.

HERE you will find the codec
To use it: Settings -> Decoder -> Scroll to the last entry "Custom Codec" -> Select my zip file and the app will restart

Hi I wanted to know if with dvd fab you can clone entirely a blu ray 4k, for example aquaman.
is the first bluray that I tried to clone but setting the entire disc makes me a folder of about 82gb while the original blu ray is 90gb and setting only film makes me a folder of 66gb.
The film comes out well and is read without problems from the opto 203 even with dolby atmos, while dolby vision does not go.
Is there a way to clone the disc even with dolby vision?

People using a program and this forum supporting that program are two different things. DVDFab has its own (good by most reports) support community, with access to their developers. Pretty much every program discussed in this topic has their own forum/community for questions about that specific program, and, with few exceptions, the quality of support is better than on the forum of a competing product.

So apparently there's a method to backup UHD ISO's into MP4's that triggers Dolby Vision on an LG or Vizio television app via USB. I made this thread in the hopes we can figure out a way to reconvert this into MKV. The procecure is the following -



1. Make ISO of movie. I have only tested this with Black Panther since that's the only one I own. I will be buying Gladiator this weekend to test out though.

2. Use TS Muxer to open the ISO. Find the correct M2TS file and demux the following files:
A. HEVC1 in 4K (Base layer)
B. HEVC 2 in 1080p (this is the dolby vision enhancement layer)
C. Audio track which you will have to convert to AC3. This is a hard line limitation- you need to use AC3!!!

3. Once you have HEVC1, HEVC2, and the Audio track. Run Dolby Vision MP4Muxer (https://github.com/DolbyLaboratories/dlb_mp4base)
DolbyVision MP4 Muxer only works in Command Prompt so you have to navigate to the corresponding folders where the files are and type


mp4muxer --dv-profile 7 --input-file (baselayername.hevc1) --input-file (dvlayername.hevc2) --input-file (audio.ac3) --media-lang eng --output-file (nameofmovie).mp4


*Right now we are limited to only MP4 and AC3 audio. Hoping we figure out an MKV solution.

It sounds like its complicated, but it isn't. The entire process took me an hour to figure out, but once I did it, I sold my Xbox One X, because I'm now using my LG USB to play Dolby Vision MP4's! Hopefully this starts a discussion.

The step I'm having issues with is the command step I always get error massage the command does not exist internal external.

And I've tried granolas app which is super nice but get error massage the movie file does not have a Dolby vision video track

The movie I'm trying with is full uhd disc Avengers infinity war

Ok with the last version of dvd fab I solved, it was enough to say only this didn't take us so much.
