Hi,
I bought American Gangster today and I don't seem to be able to back it up. The error is:
MakeMKV v1.14.5 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Evaluation version, 30 day(s) out of 30 remaining
Using LibreDrive mode (v05 id=4FBA32AEC678)
Saved AACS dump file as C:/Program Files (x86)/MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_American_Gangster_1B40.tgz
The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
Failed to open disc
I have sent the attached file to support@makemkv.com and svq@makemkv.com. Can someone please confirm if this is the correct thing to do as I've not done it before?
If so, what is the next step? Do I just have to wait for the next release of makemkv?
Thanks.

This was answered and discussed here:
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=20728
No need to spam the forum with the same post in multiple places. You’ll get the same answer and process for submitting these doesn’t change based on where you post. You need to wait as we all do and check the disc periodically until the app supports it after the dump has been properly submitted to the developer Mike.

Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
Thanks d00zah,
So I downloaded the latest which didn't have it included, searched the forums and no one seems to have posted it before. I've submitted it as originally said, but the only thing I'm not 100% on is if I sent the correct "dump" file? Can you confirm if what I sent is what Mike needs to process it?
Cheers.

Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
Yes. The clue was in the MakeMKV output snippet:
"Saved AACS dump file as C:/Program Files (x86)/MakeMKV/MKB20_v72_American_Gangster_1B40.tgz"
It's now a waiting game...
I submitted a dump, but it still isn't added to the hashed keys - how long does it take?
The hashed keys file is normally updated within 48 hours after you send the dump.
If that's not the case, it's possible the dump you submitted was a bad dump.
To avoid bad dumps, make sure that all of the following are true:
- You are using a version of MakeMKV either 1.14.1 or newer
- You are using a LibreDrive-enabled drive (be it "firendly" or "official", but it must be LibreDrive enabled)
- You have "allow contacting web server for updates" enabled in preferences
- You are opening the original disc (not a backup, not ISO, etc)
- You are opening the disc using real disc drive natively (no elby clonedrive, no vmware, no dvdfab or discsoft virtual, etc)
Patience.

Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
Yeah I read that bit, I just wanted to double check that was indeed the correct file. The contents are nothing i'm familiar with so it could be anything for all I know.
I'll keep an eye on the thread for an update now.
Thanks for your help d00zah

Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
There won't be an update to the thread... unless you retry the disc, it decrypts & you choose to share. That's the only likely 'positive response'.
Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
So I'm not waiting for this file to be updated?
https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=16959
I just keep retrying the disk and it should start working when it's been done?
Also share what exactly? Just share by letting you guys know it's working now or something else?
Sorry, little confused. Thanks.

Re: American Gangster - video can't be decrypted
Yes makemkv downloads new keys automatically so no need to watch for an updated key file since it doesn't get updated often. And yes just posting when it works to let people know it's now supported.
