Earlier today I spent hours trying to get a UHD to rip and opened a thread for it. After also having other issues with loading hash tables and putting in a workaround, I went to test MakeMKV with a known good disc that I already ripped.
First try got the hash table and then it got hung up with corrupt errors trying a workaround messages so I killed it, rebooted, and tried it again. This time it worked.
So now I’m thinking maybe the drive itself is having issues. What’s the possibility of that?
Here’s my drive info.

Something funky is going on
Re: Something funky is going on
In an answer to my own post, whatever wonky thing going on with my drive was fixed by..... replacing the drive. Why the hell did it start failing so soon I don’t know. I’ve used it almost exclusively for 4K and I don’t have that many yet.
So when you read it’s either the disc or the drive, take it to heart. And kudos to whoever I found on eBay selling drives ready to go.
