I was trying to back up a Ex Machina UHD disc via MakeMKV v1.14.5 (Mac OS X Mojave).
I tried three times.
In the first two times, I did backup + decrypt. The backup succeeded although with some debug code 233 in the second time (didn't check the first time's log though), but remuxing from the back up failed at around 60% time and clearly M2TS files are broken by trying many different players.
In the third time, I did only backup, without decrypt, successfully without any debug code. Then I do remux. Same error happened again around 60%.
I'm using a WH16NS40 (SVC NS50) manufactured in May 2019, with downgraded MK firmware HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS40-NS50-1.03-NM00600-211711211653 following instructions in https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 19&t=20054

in this particular case, I guess the disc was damaged, according to numerous reports on https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.ph ... 52&page=22
however, it's still interesting why backup can succeed without error.
